Construct Facility for
Applied Technology Phase V
New building construction including demonstration labs and
classroom space for instruction of applied electrical technology.
The building is constructed on a sloping site where the sloping
metal roofing and exterior are visible and focal points from the
campus. The architect did not want mechanical equipment to
impact the roof design or elevations. The air handling equipment
is located on the lower level with intake and exhaust
louvers disguised as windows.
Building infrastructure was designed
with flexibility in mind to accommodate the changing educational
needs of the facility including special exhaust and power
connections for hands-on training projects.
Emergency power is provided by a diesel generator set for
building life safety functions and is also integrated into
the educational program.
