KINGSTON OLD CITY HALL
Kingston, New York

Restoration of historic 1890 original city hall that had been abandoned for over 15 years. Building was restored to its original function as the city hall.

The challenge included integrating building systems into an existing structure that was never intended to accommodate today's state-of-the-art systems.

Historic lighting fixtures were restored and supplemental lighting was added to meet current lighting standards.

Common Council Chamber HVAC systems were blended into the existing ornate plaster ceilings. Original cast iron grilles were reactivated to provide returen air to the central handling unit.

To preserve the open design of the building and eliminate smoke doors at main stairways, an automatic sprinkler system was installed throughout. The system included a fire pump due to water pressure limitations.
